Gravimetry
Gravimetry is based on the density contrast between rock units. This method is very often used in addition to the magnetic method because it gives similar information while being based on different physical parameters. It is used among others for:
Geological mapping
Direct detection of dense / sparse bodies
Cavity detection
Applications
Exploration of mineral and energy resources
Geological storage
Spatial planning
Bouguer anomaly, magnetic anomaly with tomographic interpreted section
North Pyrenean frontal Thrust in natural hydrogen exploration context (Lefeuvre and Al, 2021)
A controlled process
Survey design and survey
grid adapted to the target corrections with RTK GPS
Processing
Gravimetric corrections Interpolations
Analysis ans interpretation
2D analysis 3D modelisation and density inversions
